documentary on 4OD

This documentary gives us information about the youth of today. It shows how urban sports has taken a turn and evolved into not something that is just done by law breakers, misfits and street teenagers but has blossomed into a career. Youngsters who turn into athletes. Amazing. the first urban sports displays the different ways of how you can manoeuvre a bike. Danny who lives in scotland comes from a small village is one of the best riders in the world. the other sport is free running which is performing almost superhuman stunts in a space of land efficiently without having to waste any extra energy. In the video the free running is done by Paul Joseph the world best free runner.

Flat land biking is is probably the most difficult form of urban sports,
also they use street sports to try and express themselves and the way they work. The documentary is presented in a way where the interviews can display the express and the experience of the streets sports people. The aim of the documentary is to create a film that surpasses the previous storm volume 1and trying to create 4 films that exceed all expectations. Experiment new ideas and stunts to try and create something new but also finding the best place to and most comfortable area for the urban sportsmen is essential because if they don't find an suitable area of space for them to conduct their skills and they need to be happy with their location.

Overall this video shows different ways to document the modern athletes in an interesting way that allows the audience and viewers to be entertained and learn about different sports at the same time. One part of the document is when the interview was being recorded the video of stunts is being taken while the interviewer is talking which is really effective.

new ideas for documentary

My idea was to document airplanes and the risks, how safe are planes? i wanted to document whether planes would actually be safe and whether any safety gear could be implemented into the planes so that when the plane is about to crash, parachutes would spring out the back of the seat and save everyone. This was discussed and was probably not a good idea.

harris Z's idea was to document about jobs and unemployment and why it has fallen to such an extent that recession is just around the corner.

our plan for today was to do some editing on the so far filming that has been done, we have done quite a bit    of editing but haven't finished all the filming so what we are going to do is to do some extra filming. we also discussed about how we structure our documentary for example, which interview should go before which, this is important because it makes the video look more professional.

what we plan to do today is to into town and do some filming outside of school, the purpose of this to get some more opinions on what they think about the current employment situation. we specifically will be targeting managers, workers and even university students because we need to hear what the next generation of workers think about whether their job.

When editing we added a timeline to show who is coming into the video and at what time. this helps us because it means we can order the interviews into place

my own personal idea for documentary.

my idea for a documentary is to

the reflexive mode

documentary mode developed by american documentary theorist bill nichols seeks to distinguish the diferent types of modes of documentay and their styles. six documentary styles have been noticed and identified. these are poetic, expository, observational, participatory, reflexive, and performative. the one i have chosen to talk about is reflexive.

reflexive mode is the mode that focuses on the quality of the documentary. the goal of this is to aid the audience in understanding the process of the film so that they can develop a critical attitude, one that judges the the way the documentary was made.
